For over twenty years Alan has worked as a performer, choreographer and director for UK Tours, West End and Theatre in Education. Alan was ‘Children’s Dance Captain’ on Billy Elliot and ‘Resident and Children’s Director’ for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock, both in London’s West End. Most recently Alan has been shooting for a Warner Bros. feature film due for release in 2023.
Alan was Vice Principal/Head of Dance (The MTA), Head of Acting/Artistic Consultant (CPA Studios) and Course Co-ordinator: Foundation Musical Theatre (ArtsEd), as well as teaching at and sitting on assessment and audition panels for some of London’s top Theatre Schools and professional colleges including Guildford School of Acting, ArtsEd, Italia Conti, London Studio Centre, LSMT, Urdang, MADD College and The Sylvia Young Theatre School.

Alan founded The Young Professionals UK in 2013 – now The YPUK Club – which runs to mentor young people in the notoriously tough entertainment industry. Alan is well known as ‘the theatre coach’, tutoring private clients from around the UK and America who are working in various theatre, TV and film projects.
Passionate about positive mental health, mindset and well-being, Alan now also uses his skills and knowledge to empower young people and adolescents by helping them to change their stories.
Alan is an Arts, philosophy and dog-loving husband and adoptive father who was born and bred In Scunthorpe before moving to London.
